Instead Softcup review & GIVEAWAY

I've actually been a Softcup user for years, but I had never tried their reusable version.  This review gave me the chance to do so.  I received the products shown above free to facilitate my review.

So what is Softcup?  Well, first, let me say, if there are any guys reading, STOP NOW.  Seriously, just X out the tab and back away slowly.

Okay, now that it's just us ladies...  Softcup is an alternative to menstrual pads and tampons.  The name really sums it up well.  It's a cup you wear to catch your flow.  The "soft" part refers to how flexible the rim of the cup is for ease of insertion.  You can check out the video tutorials at their website.

I like Softcups.  As I said, I've been using them for years.  (I remember trying them for the first time when we lived in Santa Rosa, so it's been more than a decade.)  I like that I don't need to mess with them for a full 12 hours, except on my heaviest day.  You can't feel it, once it's in place, and you can pretty much forget all about your period and go on with your life.

I got my chance to try out the reusable version on my recent Disney trip.  Is it just me, or does Aunt Flo seem to tag along on EVERY vacation I ever take??  No worries, I packed a few wet wipes in my purse, and I was good to go for the day.  On the go, it was just empty and reinsert.  I saved the "rinse" part for back at the hotel, not wanting to try that in a public restroom, but I suppose you could carry a little squirt bottle of water with you, if you wanted to.

While the reusable Softcup doesn't seem much different than the Softcup I've been using, I liked knowing that this was a less-waste option.  Using one cup for the whole cycle was also a big plus in the "packing light" department, since we flew carry on only.  You ever lug boxes of tampons or pads on a trip with you?  Then you'll appreciate how much simpler one Softcup is.

Still have questions?  Be sure to check out the FAQ section of the website.

Softcup is generously allowing not one, but 2 of my readers to give these a try!  Each winner will receive a box of reusable Softcups, pictured above.

a Rafflecopter giveaway
Most grocery and drug stores carry Softcup with the other menstrual products, but if you're having a hard time finding them locally, try either the store locator, or you can purchase at several online retailers, including Amazon.  Give them a shot!  You'll be glad you did.
