Someone Like You book review and #giveaway
When I received this, it came in manuscript form, instead of the usual paperback book. So it sat on my bedside table for a while until I talked myself into reading it. Once I got past the first couple of pages, I was so caught up in the story, I no longer noticed it wasn't the format I was used to.
Someone Like You is a cute story. It's a tale of second chances, finding new hope, and redemption, sure. But what draws you in is that it's got a cute plot.
Zeke and Julia met in college. He was the good boy, she was the average girl next door. They dated and really enjoyed spending time together. Zeke was looking for forever, and she was looking for now. They split up, and she ends up having a child with another man.
The story begins when the two meet again a few years later. Max is now 4 years old. Julia and Max live with her widowed mother, Ellen. Max's dad, Hunter, is a constant thorn in Julia's side.
When Julia lands a job doing a project for the resort that Zeke manages, she brings Ellen and Max along to live in one of the guest cottages. During the course of their stay, Ellen meets George, a former music star, who, after crashing and burning, has turned his life around. Will this be a second chance for her to find love? Or is there only room in her heart for her deceased husband, Ben?
As Zeke and Julia work together, they both realize that they still enjoy spending time together. Will things work out for them this time around, or is Zeke's crisis of faith going to derail a second shot at happiness?

I really enjoyed Someone Like You, and I think you will, too. I would love to see author Victoria Bylin do a sequel so we can find out what happens next with both couples.
