What About Katie?

2 weeks ago, when Paul was making the drive to pick up our 3 new toddlers, I was explaining it to Hannah.  "Soandso will sleep here, Soandso will sleep there, they're going to stay with us for a while just like Sparkle and Fluffy did, blah blah blah."  And Hannah asked a question I'm sure many of you are asking.  "What about Katie?"

"Oh, honey girl, Katie is still coming, but it's not time yet."  Our hosting situation is temporary, and in fact, may be ending in the next couple of weeks, depending on factors totally outside our control.  And that's fine.  Kids belong with their parents.  Safe Families is a ministry to families in crisis.  Fix the crisis, get the kids back home.  That's the plan.

"So are you doing this to help get money for the adoption?"  No, no, no.  There IS no money in this.  Hosting is voluntary.  We do not get paid or reimbursed in any way.  We're doing this because there was a need, and we have room.  It's that simple.

Back to the adoption.  We're a month and a half into the wait for our Letter Of Approval.  It could come at any time.  Monday, or not for another 2 months.  There's no way of knowing.  Some days the wait is harder than others.

I'm sorry I haven't managed to post a new Katie picture since 2/13!  Here is one that was taken last May, when our agency was in China and met her.

This was one of the first pictures we saw of Katie.  It makes me smile.  Interestingly, Katie and Miss No are less than 2 weeks apart in age.  It's been a blessing to my mama heart to have Miss No here and get an idea of what Katie may be like.

Hopefully, there won't be too be too many more "no news yet" weeks.
