Remember the Very Hungry Caterpillar outfit I made Hannah recently?? Now Gymboree has a new line featuring the artwork of Eric Carle! It's not very often that I come up with something on the cutting edge of fashion, so I was quite tickled to see this.
Gymboree is hosting an in store event tomorrow, September 5th, from 10am-12pm! Families are invited to visit any one of the Gymboree retail locations (outlets excluded) for caterpillar crafts and story time. Parents can find printable coloring sheets and activities inspired by The World of Eric Carle on http://www.gymboree.com/promo/campaign/ericcarle/eric-carle.html
My favorite for Katie is the Zebra top and I'm really loving the Iguana raglan for Luke!
Looking at these, I realize I've only read Hungry Caterpillar and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, but there are other books by him that I'm not familiar with. What is your/your child's favorite Eric Carle book?
Thanks for clicking for us!
We've only read those two, Polar Bear, Polar Bea, and The Mixed Up Chameleon. He has written and/or illustrated dozens. I enjoy his pictures a lot.
ReplyDeleteThe polar bear one sounds vaguely familiar. I'm going to have to look for his books the next time we go to the library.
DeleteRuby likes The Tiny Seed, I like House for Hermit Crab.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read either of those!
DeleteThe Very Hungry Caterpillar, for sure!
ReplyDeleteSuch a classic! :)
DeleteZebra tops!! Need some
ReplyDeleteKatie even has zebra print shoes. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to resist that shirt. :)
DeleteOh, thats so hard! We have so many! Love his books.
ReplyDeletemariah says "brown bear, brown bear" is hers...
I think I have some brown bear fabric... maybe from Meg?
DeleteThese are so cute! I miss sweet little children all clean and in jammies.
ReplyDeleteAww! :) Clean kids, cute jammies, fun stories... it's like a Pottery Barn ad, lol.
DeleteWe only have the hungry caterpillar one. Like it though.

I'm not sure how I missed out on all the other ones, but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one! I was starting to feel like I was depriving my kids, lol.
DeleteI think my boys have decided to turn The Very Hungry Caterpillar into a stage play, performed in the kitchen of course! My favorite is The Grouchy Ladybug.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds adorable! Have you seen the handprint caterpillar craft floating around Pinterest? Would go along with their play. :)
DeleteI love Gymboree! They have such cute outfits at affordable prices! :)
ReplyDeleteAnnaliese was my Gymboree baby. I was so thrilled to have a girl, she had every matching accessory down to the socks, lol. :) Fortunately, Gymbo clothes last forever so many of her outfits came from thrift stores.
DeleteSuch a super cute line! I wish they made Eric Carle grown up t-shirts
ReplyDeleteShhh! I heard a rumor that some of the jammies will be coming in adult sizes soon! :D *excited*
DeleteI love the selection of clothes and adore Brown Bear Book as well. Great Combo !
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how sweet it would be to have portraits of your child reading a story, wearing the matching outfit?? :swoon:
DeleteMy girls liked Brown Bear, Brown Bear.
ReplyDeleteDid you know there's two versions of it? One with a Teacher at the end, and one with Mother at the end.
DeleteThe Very Hungry Caterpillar! I must have read this a million times at bedtime. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, repetition. Kids are learning, parents are dying for them to move on to the next book, lol. :)
