If you're familiar with Christian Historical Fiction, you already know author Tracie Peterson. Lucky me, I got to review her 100th novel!
A Sensible Arrangement is the story of a hurt woman, making a rash decision, that lands her in an amazing life. But of course it's much more than that. It's the story of economic hard times, in the days of mail order brides. It's the story of lies and truth, of redemption, and second chances.
Marty is a believable character, and the story sucks you in right away. I found myself tearing up only 8 pages in. The author weaves real events from the 1890's into the narration, making it historically plausible.
I have to say, I'm glad this is "book one" of the Lone Star Brides series, because there's some loose ends I can't wait to see wrapped up. I'll be watching for book 2, due to be released in June, as well as book 3, set to come out in October.
