If You Were Me And Lived In... Australia GIVEAWAY

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Some of you may remember last year when we got to review 4 books by Carole P. Roman.  This was our introduction to the If You Were Me And Lived In... series.  Now the series has grown, and includes not only our beloved Mexico, South Korea, France and Norway books, but also India, Kenya, Turkey, and now Australia!  When I saw Australia available for review, I jumped at the chance to add it to our collection.

Hannah and Katie are my ideal reviewers, since Hannah is 7 and Katie is 3.  The books are recommended for ages 3-8.  I often find that books appeal to a wider range than suggested, and I noticed my 14 year old photographer was paying an awful lot of attention to the story as I read.  I plan to leave this book on Jack's bed for him to peruse at his leisure, as well.

These books are formulaic in nature, with each answering the same questions about what life is like for a typical child in the country featured.  While adults might find this a little boring by the 5th book, the kids really seemed to appreciate knowing what to expect.  Each book mentions names, currency, a few words of local language, cuisine, culture, landmarks, and more.

For families who are doing a study of different countries, these books would make a great addition as either an introduction to each country, or a summary at the end of that country.

If You Were Me And Lived In... Australia is available on Amazon, where it sells for $8.99, but I'm GIVING AWAY a copy to one lucky reader!

You can connect with author Carole P. Roman via her website.  Leave a comment, suggesting which country you'd like to see her feature next in the series!

    1. Agreed! It would be fun to have her pick some of the lesser known little countries, just for the novelty of learning something totally new.

    1. You know, I didn't even know where Haiti *was* when the earthquake hit? I'd love to learn more about it. And Isreal! That's another country that would be on my bucket list, if I had unlimited resources. Along with Egypt, India, Japan, Scotland... sigh.

    1. The curriculum we used to use had a section on Spain in second grade. After going through it 7 times, I got kind of tired of Spain, LOL.

  21. Hungary! I really liked the history and culture of the country when we took our kids on vacation there. Plus the dipping dots ice creams were cheaper than regular ice creams in this country and the dipping dots places never had a line because they were not popular.
