Trident Case

I love companies that have cute shipping boxes like this one from Trident Case.  It's a first impression that's so easy to make.

I recently received a review package from Trident Case, and inside was a Kraken A.M.S. Case for Apple iPad 2/3/4 for my iPad.

My old case (which was actually starting to show signs of wear, so this was perfect timing!) was a magnetic flap style one, so this would be a change for me.

I picked PURPLE!  Opening it up, it looked simple enough to install, but surprisingly, I had a bit of a struggle with it.  I would have loved some easy, step by step instructions, but the tiny little booklet was instructions for several different case products in several different languages.  I think a sturdy card, specific to the product, would have been more clear.

I was able to get it on, and it looked good!  I did have an issue with the power button at the top of the case not responding the first few times I tried to use it, but I guess something settled into place, because after that, it was fine.

The purple part is shock-absorbing silicone, like the kitchen tools that are all the rage these days.  The black part is made of polycarbonate.

It took me a little while to get used to having the clear screen cover.  It made the touch screen just a hair less sensitive.  It wasn't noticeable all the time, but every once in a while, I'd have to touch something again.  Seems a worthwhile price to pay to guard against scratches, though.

The kids were impressed with the colorful new case, of course.  They love to check out all our review products.

Honestly, the kids were one of the reasons I was interested in this review.  I want them to be able to use the educational apps I have on my iPad, but I worry about them dropping/damaging it.  I like that this case is more sturdy and protective than my old one.

There are so many potential uses for technology in homeschooling that it makes sense to have a durable case like this to protect your tech gear from the mishaps that happen in a busy family.

This Kraken case can be used by all ages, both kids and grown ups.  Some Trident cases are designed just for kids.

The Kraken A.M.S case is tested to meet or exceed military standards.  It protects your device from rain, dust, and vibration.  It sells for $69.95, and comes in black, blue, pink, red, lime, orange, maroon, and of course, purple!  There is an optional stand attachment available, as well, for an additional $19.95.  Being used to a case with a stand built in, I thought I would really miss having that feature, but it turns out, I didn't.  I mostly use my iPad in bed, propped on a pillow or a wadded up blanket, or at my desk, and I was able to lean the iPad up against my pencil cup and the silicone corners kept it from sliding.

When I first started this review, I thought, "If I don't like it, I can always go back to my old case."  But now that the review period is over, I'm going to leave it on.  I'm used to the differences now, and I value the added protection it gives my iPad when the kids are using it.

Other Crew families tried out different Kraken and Cyclops cases from Trident Case.  Find out what they had to say about them here:

  1. That's the thing with technology, we have to make sure we protect it! That case looks heavy duty but is still really cute!

Thanks for sharing and wishing you a lovely day.
