Weekly Wrap Up - the one with Two Weeks

Today's Weekly Wrap Up post is actually 2 weeks.  I didn't have enough pictures to share with you last week, and I figured with the holiday, we might not get much "school" done this week, either.

Luke had blood drawn for exome testing, so now we're waiting 3-4 months for the results of that.

He has a pre-appointment for the muscle biopsy this coming week.  Hoping to get the actual biopsy done by the end of the year.

We learned about the spine and brain this week.  That's wooden spools threaded on a lace, to represent the spinal cord and vertebrae.

Earlier, I posted about a fun bug kit that Jack got to do when Eli was sick.  Once Eli was feeling better, I brought out the K'NEX Education - DNA, Replications and Transcription Set (affiliate link) that I'd recently bought.

"K'nex!  We used to have these!  Can we get some with wheels??"  The K'nex Education line is new to me, but I'm impressed with it so far.

Eli has built a couple different models from the kit, including the DNA shown above.  And I'm thinking we'll end up with a set with wheels under the tree.

Jack's version of Starry Night, from co op.  Which is ending soon, boo hoo!

The big kids were off for 2 days last week, so Brianna did a puzzle.

Unfortunately, my boys aren't enjoying this year's science book any better than last year's.  We learned about long bones,

and teeth.  They're pretty much over making the paper models of each body part we study.

This coming week we hit the Fall of Rome.  As fascinating as Roman history has been, I'm looking forward to moving on.
