Hannah brought home a poster from first grade on Friday. This weekend we got to complete it, filling in "All About Hannah."
Her age, her favorite food, what she wants to be when she grows up... these are easy enough.
But the project was a foreshadowing for me, of the school projects down the road that may bring up family history, or genetics or other potentially sensitive issues.
Today's Sunday Snapshot picture is not exceptionally pretty or well shot. But it is, literally, a snapshot of where Hannah is at right now. Not yet self conscious about her ginormous family. Wanting to be a teacher when she grows up. Wishing for a horse.
And listing China as her favorite place.
I love my girl. I hope she maintains an acceptance of who she is and where she comes from. I hope I can help her do that.

Too adorable!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks!
DeleteYou WILL help her. Just the fact that you're thinking about it and wanting to help her speaks volumes and will go a very long way. She is just precious. Congrats on such a beautiful family!
ReplyDeleteShe IS precious! I admire her inner spark so much. Thank you!
DeleteBeautifully put! With your guidance and strength I'm sure she can overcome those obstacles.
ReplyDeleteThank you! She's quite an overcomer. Never have I met anyone as resilient as she is. She's handled adoption, surgery, school, and everything else we've thrown at her so gracefully.
