Can we talk about giveaways?

I'd like to discuss a couple different aspects of giveaways today.

A big part of blogging is connecting with other bloggers.  And, from following other blogs, and helping to promote them, you see what giveaways they're doing.  Lately, I've entered a few, and I wanted to share my winnings with you.  Not from a "lookie how cool I am" place, but from a "people really do win this stuff" place.

Unfortunately, I can't remember/find the name of the site I won this game from, but I'd love to give them credit if I could.

This adorable activity journal came from 4Knowledge 4Fun.  I've set it aside for Hannah's birthday later this month.

This book came from The Arrowood Zoo.  I must be the "busy mom" mentioned on the cover, because I haven't had a chance to dive into it yet, but I'm looking forward to making some time to read it.  I tend to get into food ruts, so hopefully this will help me shake things up a bit.

This was a hilarious giveaway from TheMomMaven.com.  It's the Smellcome To Manhood pack from Old Spice.

Not only was there a nice assortment of prizes inside, but the suitcase itself cracked me up.  Since I have a couple stinky boys, this was a helpful thing to win.

I'm currently waiting on a couple more prizes to arrive in the mail.  It always brightens up my day to receive packages, and even better when they're FREE, right?

Winning giveaways has been a blessing to my family, but hosting giveaways has been an even larger one!  Doing reviews has allowed us to try out products I might never have purchased, and it's also given us free samples of things we already use.

I went through a phase as a little girl of wanting to work in advertising.  I came up with products and slogans in my art sketch book, and probably drove my parents nuts with my crazy "campaigns."  But I'm really enjoying reviewing products and sharing them with you, so maybe there was something to that, after all.

How about you?  I notice a significant amount of traffic on my giveaway posts, so I know I'm bringing in new visitors.  I'd love to hear from the long term readers, too, though.  Do you like the giveaways?  Wish there were less of them?  What kind of giveaways do you like best?  I appreciate your feedback!

  1. Most of the time I don't want a give away. I always feel there are others who could use it more. BUT, I love your reviews of the various products. You find the most unusual things.

  2. I love the giveaways and reviews. Although, I started following your blog when I started researching information on adopting from China. My favorite posts are those about your adoptions. I love reading about Luke (& the rest of your bunch) and pray for him all the time. I can't imagine your struggles, I pray one day it will all make sense. Sending Love!!

  3. I don't mind giveaways, though as ann said, I prefer the posts about Luke and the rest of your gang.

Regarding your giveaway success, how many giveaways do you enter regularly? How much time does it take? We've had a sudden drop in income, and I'm looking at entering more giveaways as a way to try to find nice gifts for the kids for free. Just wondering what the time investment is. Also, what are your favorite places to find giveaways to enter?

    1. I tend to sit and enter giveaways while I watch Netflix with my older boys at night. It's something I can multitask at.

I find giveaways by following other bloggers, mostly.

  7. Wow! The Manhood pack from Old Spice is pretty interesting. I can't believe you got it from a giveaway. Hahaha! I agree with what you said that host or participating on a giveaway is the best chance of connecting to fellow bloggers. I'm glad you've won a few. Thanks for sharing that with us! More power to you and your blog! :)

    1. Thanks!

It was quite useful, actually! Deodorant is always a good thing, and we've used the duct tape, too. :)

I happen to have two active giveaways going right now, I hope you'll enter! :)
