The caterpillars continued to get bigger this week.
Brianna knit a shawl.
Jack hid behind his journal when I tried to take his picture.
The kids are working out to one of the DVDs from our wellness program.
In studying Egypt, we made clay pots.
Notice how Luke is pulling Paul's hand in when he feeds him? If anyone missed the video from yesterday, please watch. It's worth seeing.
Rotten picture taken through screen, but look! Our first chrysalis! The other caterpillars are getting into J position to make theirs, too.
We had our monthly art class on Friday.
Today was sketching and painting pumpkins and/or still life.
Bri was having a hard time getting a pumpkin shape she liked.
Afterwards, the kids played outside. See the black spot up in the tree?
Yup. One of mine. Helicopter moms hate my kids, lol. Bad influences. Fortunately, one of the moms today said, "Call it PE." I said, "Yeah, until he breaks the branch," and she replied, "Then it's PE and science!" Made me grin.
Bri ended up doing sunflowers instead of pumpkins. She learned a new brushstroke technique. I'm so thrilled to have these art classes for them. If you're local to the Sacramento area, please check out her class website and schedule.
If you're NOT local, please check out her other art lesson website.
Have you heard of Discount Books Daily? I got an email and decided to check them out. I've already downloaded a couple of ebooks FREE (my favorite price!). They also have discounted ebooks, audio books, and paperbacks. Check it out!

Thanks for clicking for us!
Have you seen them actually form the chrysalis? It's both fascinating and rather creepy! Here's a video of our butterflies from earlier this year - after many misses, we actually saw them form and then emerge from the chrysalis! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyws0rN0rNo
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I'm going to share that with the kids!
DeleteWhat do you use for your exercise video for the kids? It's getting cold here, so I need to find some indoor activities.
ReplyDeleteWe're in the process of reviewing a wellness program. The DVD is part of that. Stay tuned for a review post once we're allowed to share!
DeleteThank you for sharing! I love seeing what other homschoolers are doing :)
ReplyDeleteI need to get better about taking pictures. I look back at our week and think, "I feel like we did more than that...!" LOL
DeleteWe placed a humming bird feeder out side of our window. It is awesome watching them.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's wonderful! We used to have feeders outside my desk window in our old house. I miss them!
