I have a treat for you today! The Promise, Birth of the Messiah is a very sweet rendition of the Christmas story, in animated musical form.
This touching movie comes from Glorious Films, and is 45 minutes long. I watched it with my kids, and while a couple of them are not big fans of musicals, Hannah sat mesmerized by my side the whole time. I thought they did a nice job of being historically accurate in the temple furnishings, and the countryside views were very pretty. It was fun to see personalities put into the story and think, "Well, how would Mary's parents have reacted?" It made me consider aspects of The Story that I hadn't contemplated in all the years of the classic rendition as read straight from the Scriptures.
Here is the official trailer. Watch for yourself to see how charming it is.

ReplyDeleteIt looks like a well-done movie. The songs are beautiful and moving.
ReplyDeleteMy older kids would have liked a little more dialog and a little less singing, but I enjoyed it. :)
