China Trip: Meet The Team

It's good to be home.  I'll be sharing about the trip and about the children over the next weeks.  Let's start with the MAA team.

This picture was taken outside the Beijing Zoo gates.  Left to right are advocates Jennifer, Marilyn, Me, Becky, Jamie, Sue, Lynne, and Leonette.

Jennifer lives in Delaware.  She has 2 boys at home, and is in process for a little girl from China.

Marilyn lives in Florida with her 5 daughters, including 3 16 year olds!

Becky is from Michigan, and has 5 children, and is in process for another daughter from China.  She used to advocate for kids in Russia before they closed to adoptive families from the US.

Jamie is from Illinois, and she has 3 children.  She has worked for MAA since 2002, and currently runs their Illinois office.

Sue lives in Pennsylvania.  She and her retired husband are the proud parents of 9 children, and are in process for 2 more from China!

Lynne lives in Maryland.  She is our child development specialist, and did assessments on the kids at the end of our time together.  She has done similar assessments for kids in the Philippines and in South Korea, even acting as a courier for adopted Korean babies coming to the US.

Leonette is MAA staff, and was our leader on this adventure.  She was not assigned a specific child, which left her free to help out anyone who needed a hand.

Leo, on the far right, was our guide/translator.  It was a great team, and I was honored to be a part of it.
