MIRA Bathroom Scale

Okay, raise your hand if you ate some of your kids' Halloween Candy.  Raise your other hand if you ate some of the candy you bought for Trick or Treat-ers.  Now that we all look like we're in a bank hold-up, put your hands back down.

We've hit The Season.  Not the holidays, the weight gain season.  It starts with Halloween, goes through Thanksgiving, and Christmas, and ends with us all making futile New Year resolutions to lose our new found pounds.

Today I'm reviewing a scale!  What better tool to keep track of our holiday indulgences? MIRA Instant On Digital Bathroom Scale with lighted display is a nice, lightweight, thin scale.  This scale is available on Amazon, where it is currently on sale for only $19.99.  (Original price $44.99!)

When our scale arrived, Eli installed the 4 batteries enclosed in the packaging.  It needed no calibration, but it was quite amusing to have Eli wonder why he only weighed 20-something pounds.  The scale has 3 settings:  kilograms, pounds, and stone.  Once we selected pounds, his weight was more what he expected it to be.  As a homeschooler, I found the options interesting.  You don't hear "stone" much any more.  Perhaps next time we come across a reference to it, we can use our scale to help determine how many pounds they're referring to.

When Jack was 2 years old, I took stock of my life and realized, "I'm not pregnant, and I weigh 180 pounds.  Something is wrong here."  I bought the old scale on the left above as the start of my turning over a new leaf.  During the next several months, I lost more than 40 pounds.  A scale is a powerful tool.  Obviously some of those pounds have found me again, but the fact remains that getting on that scale helped motivate me to make changes in my eating and fitness level.

If you need a new scale, I hope you'll consider the MIRA!  One of the things I like about it so far is that it's black, instead of white.  You can see the "perma-dirt" where our family's footprints have left a mark on our old scale.  The MIRA scale obviously won't have that problem.  I also like the blue display.

Best of luck to you in keeping those holiday pounds in check!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. Interesting to hear there is a 'stone' setting. I've never seen that before. I still hear it a good amount on message boards when British people post.

    1. I had never seen that feature before, either! Reminds me of the Dick Francis racing books. :)
