Our Week in which we Replace the A/C

The week flew by, and here it is, Sunday, and I'm just getting to our weekly wrap up.

With the holiday on Monday, I had helpers to keep eyes on the twins, so I was able to get some homeschooling done.  We got into the art supplies for the first time this school year!

We did still life paintings of our colored pencil cup.  This one is Jack's, and it's textured to the point of being 3D.

This one is Hannah's.  You can see the pencil cup I made out of an empty puffs container and some duct tape.

This one was mine, as an example.  I later painted a pink background with watercolor, so the white cup shows much better now, but I don't seem to have a picture of that.

Katie did some counting bear matching and patterning.

The cat has been trying to find a new nap location.  Here, he's taking Luke's changing table for a test snooze.  This is a good spot for him, because it has a gate, and the toddlers are rarely allowed in there.

Lukey likes to swing the cupboard door back and forth and back and forth and back and forth because it squeaks.  Josiah finally got tired of moving him and oiled it.  Spoilsport.

The toddlers are continuing to work on fork, spoon, and cup skills.

We had an interesting conversation this week when Jack asked if any of our ancestors were on the first ships to come to America.  I was able to answer that no, my great grandparents were Germans who immigrated from Odessa when it was part of Russia, and we traced back to help him understand that he's a 4th generation American and Hannah, is an immigrant.

Paul decided to replace the HVAC system, so that happened this week.

We had half a dozen guys tromping through our house all day long one day.

Lukey took the opportunity to follow the drop cloths and try to escape out the front door.

One of the guys on the crew made the girls very happy when he created a house out of one of the boxes and brought it into the back yard for them.

They decorated it with sidewalk chalk and had a great time playing out there.

The Little Ones have come down with a bug.  This is my anti-vomit hairstyle for them after getting them all cleaned up and bathed.  Please pray that no one else gets sick.  I don't have time to be sick!  And I don't want to get even further behind in school work.  We're already about a week behind.

    1. Thank you! I think I've escaped (knock wood). The Small Fries are doing better, and I don't feel *great* but I'm not sick, either.

  3. Ooh that box makes a fun play house for sure. I get so excited when I see toddlers using utensils, that means mine will learn too at some point heh. For now it is a great throwing game.

    1. LOL! It's easier to believe once you've seen it happen a few times. The twins are back with their mama now, and doing well. I'm glad they were able to continue learning new things while they were with us. :)
