This is a part two post, so you may want to read yesterday's post first. After the stop at Mission San Jose, I passed out Lunchables to the kids as we got in the car and headed down to Monterey. When we got into town, we went straight to the park to run off all the wiggles from being cooped up in the car. And not just any park! The Dennis the Menace Playground in Monterey is a really nice park.
There's a railroad engine. Last time we were there, I'm pretty sure the kids were allowed to climb on it, but that was not the case this time.
Oh. That explains it.
Probably the most memorable part of the park is the sunshine bridge over the roller slide.
The weather was nice and warm, and the kids had a great time running around exploring everything.
Unfortunately, Miss Katie fell from the ladder of one of the climbing structures, and her arm is sore from that. But it wasn't enough to significantly slow her down.
There's pretty views, including a lake next door, with paddle boats.
I mostly took pictures, and sat in the shade and watched, grateful to have a rest from driving.
That's Katie on the ship ladder and Jack, up on top of the ship.
After restorative fruit snacks, drinks from our water bottles, and everybody visiting the potties, we were ready to pile back in the car and head off on our next adventure.

Cool park!!!
ReplyDeleteIt really is. A friend told me about it ages and ages ago, so every time we go to Monterey, we try to stop there. I can't believe we went 9 years between trips, though.
DeleteOh Wow! What an awesome playground! My kids would absolutely love this! I really like that they also have a train museum at the side too. Thank you so much for linking up with us on #FabFridayPost
