May Recap

I really have no reasonable excuse for ignoring the blog for so long.  I have a lot of little excuses, of course, but it's not like I've been in traction for the last 2 months.  So here's a little catch up.

Let's start with Mother's Day.  Zach and Brayden came to hang out on Mother's Day.

This was especially special for me, since this guy is now on the other side of our big blue & green ball again.

When you have a bunch of people on a pleasant day, it's only natural that outdoor games commence.

They played football in the street while I did some planting.

I'd taken Katie and Hannah with me to the local Green Acres in the morning.

The unfortunate reality is that many of these plants have since died.  I have a bit of a black thumb.  The tomatoes (not pictured) are actually bearing, though.

Jack had a shoot in Nevada, and my Dad and Step Mom went to watch him.

Tuzi continues to be a delight.  Here, he's "reading" Tale of Peter Rabbit.

It's been too hot for walks since this picture was taken.  He likes having the run of the school room when I'm in there, though.

Paul recently painted the kitchen/dining room.  We got the "baby wall" back up.  Love my small peeps.  Who are no longer small.  Color me nostalgic.

Speaking of color.  You get a better idea of the school bus color the kitchen/dining room ended up being in the background here.  This was Paul and I on our way out the door for lunch.

Back when school was still in session, the elementary had a performance.

It was medieval themed.

Katie had been having a hard time with the idea of summer and the disruption of routine caused by play practice.

But on the night of the event, she did great.

Paul and I always laugh when we take a picture like this.  It looks like we're impersonating a small family.

So last time I wrote, I'd done Star Wars Day at the zoo.  This time, it was World Giraffe Day.  I manned a coloring station.

Miss Adorable was in Peter Pan.

I think Eli went to see it twice.

All that to say, I'm still here.  We're enjoying our summer, although I'm doing less fun adventures with the kids than I'd hoped to.

  1. I too have black thumbs! So far our tomato plant is looking OK but I know it needs a bigger pot and I am so afraid to re-plant it.

    1. I should have done cages on the tomatoes. They're just cherry tomato, so it's not falling over or anything, but they're still alive, surprisingly, so I feel like I should have made more of an effort, lol.

  2. I'm glad to catch up with your family again. :) We failed to get a summer garden in after our spring garden. I'm so sad every time I look at our weedy garden space. At least you have tomatoes!!!

    1. I should clarify, they're cherry tomatoes, lol, so it will be maybe one salad's worth. Still... they do make me happy to see.
