Buttons Diapers GIVEAWAY

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

We received a sweet little package from Buttons Cloth Diapers for review.  Katie and Luke are both currently in diapers, so it's always nice to add something new to the stash.

Inside was a cover and a daytime insert.  The insert snaps into an inner layer of the two layer PUL (PolyUrethane Laminate, which is a fancy way of saying "fabric that's been coated to make it waterproof") cover.

Katie tried out the diaper first.  See the cute little button embroidered on the back?  Adorable!

These diapers are highly adjustable, fitting babies from 9# all the way up through 35# toddlers.  She is 3 years old, and at the upper end of that range now.  We had NO LEAKS while using the Buttons system, either with the insert, or as a cover over another diaper.

The Buttons covers come in a lovely array of colors, and the inserts are available in day and night absorbencies, in both small and large sizes.  I found the snap in insert to be much easier than stuffing an insert into a pocket style diaper.

Here is Luke, wearing the freshly laundered cover with a toddler prefold folded up inside.  Not as trim as the Buttons insert, but a great option for when the insert is in the wash.

I liked using the Buttons Cloth Diapers system, and would recommend them to anyone interested in using cloth diapers.  They have a great package deal of 6 covers and 20 inserts that would be all you would need.  Having extra inserts, you could snap out the used one and snap in a new one to use the same cover again.  Plus, if you pre-snap the inserts into the covers, these diapers are as convenient as AIO or All In One diapers, which makes them great for Dads or babysitters, who might not be as familiar with more complex diapering systems.  (Did I ever tell you about the time my MIL put Brianna in a fleece diaper cover ONLY--no diaper--and I didn't realize it until she peed all over me at church??  Brianna, that is, not my MIL...)

    1. I get that! :D I've spent most of the last 22 years with a child (or two or 3!) in diapers, and the in between times were missing something.

  3. I'm a ftm and started cding my ds when he fit into our os diapers around a month and a halfish. He's 3 months now, so we are just getting into the swing of things, but honestly I don't feel like it's much different than using disposables as far as the "hassle" goes. It's less messy abd less stinky, too!

    1. One size diapers are a good investment, aren't they? My last 3 children have come to me already past the infant stage, but for those with little babies, they're so versatile.

    1. We've done both, are still doing both, actually, and there's just something about cotton that feels right.

  8. I have been thinking very seriously about switching to cloth diapers (except for when we are with grandparents or the babysitter). These look great, so you don't have to buy different sizes, you can use the buttons to increase the size as they grow!

    1. You'll love it once you take the leap! :) There are so many cute diapers out there now, not like when my firstborn was in cloth. It was prefolds and pins (wraps were new at the time) and rubber pants then. :)

  14. I started my first on cloth diapers when she was 6 days old, until we took the diapers away during the day at 16 months (still in cloth at night until 22 months). Just had my second and he wears cloth, too! Deliberately trained the first before the second came so I wouldn't have to diaper two at once (but I didn't rush her- she was ready thanks to part-time EC since 4 months).

  18. I'm cloth diapering my first - not full time - but getting there. I have a buttons diaper that I won and I really like it! I like the ai2 style better than pockets as well.

  19. I am a bit older than my brothers and so remember when my mom tried to cloth diaper. It was a weekly service with smelly bin and plastic over-pants... and didn't last very long. In spite of this experience my mom has been nothing but supportive with our decision to CD. Though I can't imagine having three in diapers at the same time (oh the laundry.... CRAZY MAD props to you for that!!!) cloth has definitely been one of the best choices for our family.

    1. That's how I CD'ed my first! Glad times have changed. 3 at once is actually not so bad, because you generate enough dirties to do a load every other day, so they don't have as long to ferment.

  23. I currently use cloth diapers with my youngest. He is baby #3, but first to be cloth diapered. We've been using them since he was 2 weeks old, I tell my husband all the time that I wished we had used cloth with our girls. I only had an overlap of about 3 or 4 months of 2 in diapers. Our younger daughter is now fully potty trained!
