Wear A Pear Shoe Snaps

You ever see a product and think, "This had to be invented by a mom!"  So it was when I saw Shoe Snaps from Wear A Pear.  Turns out, not only is creator Kristin Llamas a mom of two herself, she grew up in a large family, and has many memories of her mom searching high and low for the missing shoe of a sibling.

Shoe Snaps are simple, clever little bands of elastic with half a snap on each.  You put one on each shoe, and teach your child to snap the shoes together when they take them off.  They come in all sorts of fun colors, and at just $4.99 for 3 sets, or $12 for 9 sets, you can afford a set for every pair of shoes.

They're barely noticeable when on, but can save you the chaos of frantically digging for that lost shoe.

Here, you can see how the elastic bands loop around the strap of Katie's zebra Mary Janes.  They also work well when applied through the back loop of tennies or other shoes, OR they can even be used on laces.

Over the years, we've had several instances where kids come over to our house, and when it's time to leave, they can only find one shoe.  I can't help but think that Shoe Snaps would have prevented that.

There's also a potential educational component to Wear A Pear's Shoe Snaps.  If you always apply the colored snap to the left shoe and the white snap to the right shoe, you can teach left and right with the rhyme, "White goes on the right."

You can connect with Wear A Pear on Facebook or Twitter.

  1. Even if they don't learn left and right from it- this will help kids get their shoes on the correct feet. Line the snaps up together in the middle, and the shoes are on the sides they should be!

    1. That's a good point. Katie just put her sandals on the wrong feet a couple days ago.
