Forever Amish book review and Amish Prize Pack GIVEAWAY

Kate Lloyd, author of Forever Amish, brings us a story about a very big family secret.  As with most big secrets, the truth eventually comes out, and Sally has to re-think her whole life.

On a whim, Sally decides to venture into Amish country to meet the young lady who has been emailing her about the dogs she breeds.  Yet, nothing is what it seems.

When she sets off on her trip, she's engaged to be married.  Over the course of a weekend, she decides she doesn't really want to marry him, after all, and takes off her ring.  She then proceeds to start a relationship with a local man, while she's in the middle of some very messy family circumstances.  I'm reminded of the line in Frozen where the guy says, "Wait, you got engaged to someone that you met that day??"

Turns out, her choice to dump the fiancee was a good one, as he has an affair while Sally is away, and when she breaks the engagement, he goes whack a doodle and thrashes her house.

I may not agree with the choices that Sally is making, but the book is well written with vivid and complex characters.

The latest book in Kate Lloyd's Legacy of Lancaster trilogy, Forever Amish, introduces us to a young woman about to uncover a shocking secret and find an invitation to a new way of living. This is a story of forgiveness, legacies, and the ties that bind through generations.

Kate is celebrating by giving away an Amish-made prize pack!

  1. This sounds like an interesting book. Some day I would love to go on a field trip to see how the Amish live.

    1. Doesn't that sound like fun? I've never been east of Colorado, so it would be amazing to do a tour of the historical sites, see the fall colors, and visit an Amish community. Sigh. Someday....!

  2. My hubs likes to watch those "reality" Amish shows. I don't know how much reality is actually there but I've always wanted to visit one. Great giveaway!

    1. Oh, I didn't even know there was such a thing! "Amish" and "tv show" don't go together in my mind, either, lol. :)
