CARD.com Review

EDITED TO ADD:  As I've had nothing but negative testimonials on CARD.com and their customer service (or lack thereof), I am NO LONGER RECOMMENDING anyone use CARD.com.  I leave the post here so people can read the comments below.

As an influencer with Sverve, I was offered the opportunity to review a debit card from CARD.com.   CARD.com has literally thousands of cute, funny, meaningful, and interesting card designs to choose from.  I looked through pages and pages and pages of designs, trying to decide which one to select.  I finally chose the panda.

Isn't it cute?  Makes me "homesick" for China.

Once I selected my card and entered my information, the card arrived in the mail very quickly.  I then went online to activate it.  The whole process was very easy.

The first time I used my card was at Taco Bell with Brianna after a doctor's appointment. The cashier smiled and said, "Cute card!"

    3. I just signed up today and my card is on its way so I haven't activated it. Now that I have read this I wont activate it. I just hope they wont charge me a monthly fee for not using it.

    1. And here today they took my whole income tax 7,317 locked my card and told me to send in my 1040,drivers license,ssn,and a bill and I did now they telling me the bill won't work if anyone can help me please call me 8702282409

  3. This is a scam. I loaded my paychecks and income return and it charged me double. i made purchases and even got new phones and new phone service with this card. They charged me double. And now i have a negative balance of $800 and won't let me use it until i pay it. I tried to get it disputed or at least half of it since obviously whatwhat i deposited wasn't all that was deposited on this card, and i basically would have to return all the items i purchased and the phone service would have to be cancelled and the phones would need returned. I definitely would not recommend this card to anyone. I was told by other people that the card came with money on it, that thought never accured to me so i never checked it until after i made the purchases and thats when i found out i got charged twice.

  4. I wish I would have done more research before ordering one of these cards and having my paycheck direct deposited. I have been waiting three weeks and no card and have two direct deposits loaded in it already. Customer service is rude and very unprofessional. I would NEVER recommend this card to anyone!!!

  5. I'm sorry to hear so many people are having bad experiences. I've been using the card the last three months and haven't had a single problem. It arrived quickly, loads fine, works fine everywhere I go. I've never had a hold or a block.

  6. ive just got my card in the mail, and i had activated it, and when i try to use it on the internet it didnt work the card number didnt work...

    1. I have 166.00 on my card which I put there and I have been trying to make a purchase of 30.00 and it was declined 3 times. Tried to call customer service and I'm still not getting any help just a lot of excuses. This is something that I would advise you against. Now I have to figured out how am I going to get my money? I put the money to pay my bills and they was declined.

  7. This is the worst prepaid card I know of. I have all my pay deposited on this card every month, thats quite a bit. EVERYTIME I have a RETURN to my card they put a hold on it. Why in the world would they put a hold on your money because you are getting a refund?? I have to call and go thru about 20 mins of listening to the same message because their automated system doesn't work properly and you get stuck in a loop.Then when you're finally put on hold to talk to someone thats another 20 min wait. The people are extremely rude. So today is Christmas morning. I tried to use my card to go to church for an early service. Another block because I'm getting a $2 refund from Wish.com and so the geniuses at Card.com put a hold on my account AGAIN. Finally I got a VERY RUDE person, Cynthia on the phone. She claimed since it was early there were no supervisors available to remove the hold and I'd have to wait for the refund to post to my account. Doesn't make any sense, they obviously see the refund for $2 but it hasn't posted? When I asked her how shed feel if she couldn't use her card on Christmas morning she said "I'd never make a purchase on Christmas". Unbelievable. So my kids do not get to go to church on Christmas. I am going to switch my deposits and close this card. DO NOT USE THIS CARD. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RIDICULOUS POLICIES!!!!!

  8. So I got a card.com card because the designs are different from the banks and it was a pretty paid which I thought would be great, boy was I wrong. I had my income taxes directly deposited to my account as well as my paycheck. My state income tax check deposited to my account on Tuesday morning. I used my card twice that morning by the third time my card was declined. I called customer service which told me the there was a hold on my account and I needed to fax over a copy of my ID,w-2 and my social security card. I did that and was told in 2-3 business days the hold would be released. Needless to say the hold has still not been lifted. Now I have no access to my income tax as well as my paycheck. I would never recommend this card to anyone. Hopefully my funds will be released Monday but I don't have much faith.

  9. I'm worried as well..my refunds are suppose to be in my card by the 10th and I seen so many bad reviews..is there a way I can pull my whole refunds out as soon as I received it before they put a hold on it..what will cause them to put an hold on it..?

I just spoke to a representative and she said they will only hold your money when you have multiple transactions at a same place and only put your card on hold for 2hours after you verify your the one that made an transaction.. we will see on the 10th..she said I can only pull out 1700 a day and spend $5000 using the card at stores..I can't pull out my whole refunds or the amount I really need to purchase a car..I have to pull out 1700 one day and 1700 the next day...$250 I can get cash back from like Walmart cashier..last time using this card..as soon as all my money is out of this card..

  10. My tax refund says it was deposited to my account yesterday 2/10, it's almost 9pm on the 11th and still is not showing up in my account. When I call card.com to ask why, all they say is to wait the 5 days that the IRS requires and then call them back... I need that money to pay bills and now it's lost?????

  12. This card is a rip off if you think for one second one thing will go right by even activating this card your mistaken. I used another atm (out of network) to withdrawal some last minute funds hint birthday three days away people to pay lol anyway i use the atm to withdraw $400.00 atm processes and goes error xx000 etc etc i call owner of atm and they tell me " umm yea that atm is actually inbalanced or unbalanced one of the two basically no money. He then tells me that a automatic reversal took place. Whoa no it didnt because if it did i wouldnt have been calling them. Before i called them i called Card.com $400.00 gone plus atm fee plus Card.com fee. Atm owner tells me 48 hrs i wait no money. Next day it posts because you cant make a dispute until it posts. I make the dispute and if i send in a paper in 10 business days a temporary credit will be applied. I send in the paper 5 days after the opening of the dispute. Call to verify if reveieved. Yes. Good 10 days my money back? No i received a million reasons why i am ineligible for the credit. Even one rep told me we dont have you dispute form another pulled your account is new. What ive had this account for over 9 months reveiving dd that if you dont received over $800 dollars will shatter your nyc dreams on a friday night and my card is new so i have to wait 20 business days for credit. 20 days go and they tell me 45 days plus no credit. I wait the 45 days and then the plot thickens. Card.com customer service reps tell me that my money can not be reversed because the reversal date landed on a weekened. Wait until monday. Why did they put it on a weekend? I asked and she goes duh 45 business days. Now excuse me if i sound uhm dumb,but if its 45 business days then why the fuck did i get a email saying it would be resolved on SUNDAY. Ive had enough.End result people i still havent received my money and the disputes been finalized thats what the "notes say". Card.com is a scam aplogies for such the long story.

  14. I have had this card for awhile and haven't been able to use it for anything besides playstation. I tried to use it twice for a hotel the second actually called their card support because I told them that it has declined before even if i have the money on it. The card support said it was the actually card that wasn't letting it go through. I have tried to use it multiple times on the internet and of coarse it won't go through. So finally I got a hold of a rep today wh told me it was All the merchants fault, my card is perfect. Also all of the transactions were it was declined they don't have any record of. So Do Not get a card from card.com unless you don't want to be able to use your money and be humiliated. I also left this same review on the BBB. Someone needs to shut that place down.

  15. Same issues pretty much that everyone else is having here. I ordered my card from card.com because of the cute designs. Never had an issue for my first three deposits, but today my deposit never showed. Spent over an hour on the phone with their customer service while they continue to repeat themselves saying them as soon as your deposit post will put it in your account. Refused to transfer me to a supervisor Kama told me they couldn't give me customer Bank's number as if it was a secret or something. Still waiting on my deposit and it's almost noon. Anyone have any idea of what to do if the money never shows? Anyone know of a class action suit that's happening involving card.com that I can participate in? These reviews are horrible, I wish I had seen these before ordering my card. These poor people losing thousands to this bogus company, and the kicker is they are actually registered with the Better Business Bureau, I'm not even sure how that happened. So far they've got 214 complaints, and a 2.9 star rating with them. I'm calling in the 115th complaint today

  16. OMG...wished I saw all this before getting my card!!!! I deposited $500 in cash at a local store . They gave me an approved receipt, but the money never showed in my account. Customer Service is a major joke, and they told me I'd need to take it up with the store. Huh? So, I reported this company with the BBB and the California Attorney General's office. Card.com proceeded to credit me the $500 they stole from me....then they FROZE my account. They now have $2000 that they have stolen from me. The BBB and Attorney General's office will be updated. STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY.

  17. Card.com is a f**kn joke! NEVER GET THIS CARD PEOPLE! They blocked my card because I got a credit from Nordstrom for a pair of shoes && my card has been blocked for 3days!! My light bill is due but they don't care! They told me to wait 24-48 business hour (wateva the hell that means) I'm so sick of these rude a** people! I'm closing this dumb a** card soon as they unblock it !!! && btw viewers... the biggest mistake u can ever make in life is to deposit your tax return on this card... DONT!! You'll NEVER get it!!!

  18. Well..I'm glad I saw these posts before I signed up. I was just on the site getting ready to get a family guy card lol. Everything was typed in and ready to be sent but I had to check the reviews first. I'm a big her of amex serve cash back card. It is excellent, no problems what so ever, my pay check is on there a daily early, all transactions s update soon as your swipe, and customer service is excellent, they are there 24/7 and there is never no wait. And there is only a 1 dollar monthly service fee. I would recommend Amex Serve or Amex Serve Cash Back. Has anyone ever used the univeristyfancards ? I am suppose to be getting on in the mail tomorrow, but haven't read no reviews on it. It's from a provider called juice. It seems pretty legit and looks good, just curious if anyone else has used them ?

  22. I ordered this for the cool card design. Didnt use it for 5 months even though they charged me $10/mo so I decided to use it yesterday. I put $500 on it and bought 2 Litecoins.. So this morning I put $500 more on it hoping to buy 2 more when I got to my shop.. and BOOM got this message:

    Activity has been suspended on your account and transactions will be declined. To unblock your card, please call Account Support at (866) 345-4520.

    So I called 2x and was told to email: Receipts from my load (which I luckily had!) and a utility bill so that it would be unblocked right away. Its been 4 fucking hours and I want my money. What is this witchcraft? I am so pissed off.

  23. Thank you for all the reviews!! Now, i have the same issues with card.com! Hopefully they will send my 2nd request card because It took 13 days wait. I have my second time around direct deposit from my employer and i cant even use the money to pay off my bills and such because there is no actual card to use! And furthermore, they charge you for requested new card. They are literally, cashing you out!! Hopefully, as soon my card arrive im going to transfer all whats left on my money to my old debit card and close that card.com transactions forever!! Biggest mistake ever!
